Seodaemun hotels & places to stay

Pros: Very pleasant hosts, good free breakfast. Free use of laundry equipment. Close to public transpo, places to eat, spa, Lotte Mart. Place, including the bathrooms, is kept pretty clean. Cons: bit of a hill climb to the dorm area which is a separate entry from the common area. Also free wifi is unusually weak. Having a separate toilet from shower, the toilet having no sink or faucet, was a bit awkward and troublesome for me too. Note: No free towel (borrow) unlike other places. No walking distance tourist attractions but a lot are a short train ride away. Extra: Something went wrong with our booking and we ended up booking a room (in Agoda) that was already taken. We ended up having to compromise with a dorm and separate rooms instead of a room for 3, no change in price. Somehow there is a difference in comfort in the dorm and the private rooms. Even the pillows and blankets were different and of different quality.

If you are contemplating on where to spend the night in Seoul.. embracing the Korean Lifestyle like the Koreans, do not hesitate to pick this guest house.. be that you travel solo or with friends and families.. I have more photos to share but this are among those I manage to snap.. The services was beyond Great.. ❤💟❤💟❤.. The staffs and owner not only giving you a comfortable place to stay but an outstanding services.. during my stay, they make sure I get the best comfort and treat me very warmly.. by the definition of giving me comfort.. I was able to check in early (by request and depending on the availability I guess), I was picked from the subway by their staff.. Drinks are unlimited at the guest house.. breakfast is provided.. kitchen utensils were clean and hygienic.. all the facilities provided can be used freely.. facilities they have such as wide huge TV screen to watch movie with surround system, entertainment area, bbq area, tv with olleh cable..

It is outstanding place to stay with easy access to transportation. Yeon guesthouse is very safe, clean place for staying, best part is that it provides all the gadgets like refrigerator, washing machine, microwave, induction plate and crockery for daily use. My stay is enjoyable at Yeon Guesthouse and I recommend for everyone to stay here. Above all owner is very humble and supportive.

we booked 2 suites, 1 suites for 2 person and 1 suites for 5 person. Location was perfect, less than 5 minutes walking distance to metro station. Line 2 (chungjeongno station) or line 5 (exit 4). usually we use the line 2. Below the suite have mini mart and f&b restaurant. Right infront of the hotel building they have airport bus stop. if you have budget can go for the bus, or else just get the metro. suites for 5 person (1 room 2 double bed & 1 room 1 single & 1 double bed) 1 bathroom. Security good. You will need to use the card to access the building and before entering the walkway to your room. It feel very secure. Would stay back for my next visit to seoul.

We had a great stay at the Mei Haus last week-end. Soo ( I hope I spelled his name correctly) was very helpful in the many queries that we had about going around the city. He wrote down the directions on how to go around and suggested ways on we can get to our destinations sooner. This saved us time on having to figure out where to take off or when to change trains to the many destinations that we would like to cover in the short stay that we had. The place is very near the subway station and the bus stops to and from the city. A big thanks to Soo for all his help! He even gave a gift before we left.

Staff are very friendly and attentive to our request, especially the concierge staff Brad. We forgot to state that we would like to have a room with bath tub in our booking, and Brad helped us changed room upon availability as the hotel was fully booked on our day of arrival. He also gave us really good recommendation on the food to have around the hotel when we just arrived and wanted some food nearby. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay with the hotel. Hotel is really near Seodaemun station exit 7 & 8. (Taking either exit is fine as both exit are really near each other and the hotel is between those 2 exits).

this is probably my 3rd comments about this hotel since i booked the hotel for my group. so don't think of me as spam if you see me too many times. anyway, this is the 2nd time i stay in grand hilton hotel and i still enjoy staying here. room is clean, staff is friendly and speak fluent english. when you stay in this hotel, you need to know that there are 2 hilton hotels in seoul. so make sure you bring a hotel card with you and show that to a taxi driver since most of taxi drivers in seoul do not speak english and if you just say hilton, they will take you to the millennium hilton hotel.

Mia`s place is really great. It's the biggest property. There's a huge kitchen, fridge, freezer, cupboards and washer/dryer (dryers are like gold dust in Korea). Loads of space to spread out and there's loads nice touches like a piano and guitar. The upstairs is really well designed and makes great use of the space. The lounge is great for getting together, playing games or drinking together. There's lots of nice little touches like being able to hook a phone/ipod up to the speaker system. There's a wifi for the top floor separately to deal with any potential low signal, which probably wasn't needed for 90% of the floor but it's great attention to detail once again. The location is very close to a small supermarket called 'Saruga', and a load of other western things to pick up home comforts like breads, burgers, pastries, etc. There's loads of taxis lined up outside burger king down the road, and it's 3,000KRW // $3 to get into central Hongdae. Otherwise it's about a 15-20 minute simple walk (maximum) to the subway and main drag of bars and shops in Hongdae. The area is very safe, as evidenced by the huge properties and former Prime Ministers living in the area. There's regularly limos driving past and police patrol the area a lot. Hongdae in general is pretty chilled and student orientated, so it's a great area to go to. Mia kept in touch all the time and helped us whenever we needed it. We rented the entire top floor and it was great. Nice beds, underfloor heating, bath, two bathrooms, TV, etc. She also gave my friends a mobile data egg, where you WiFi to the 'egg' and it connects to the internet when you're out and about, which was great for them. If this was too long to read: Just book this place because the owners are amazing and so is the place.
