Very Pleasant Place”
this hotel is almost half way between the two airports in shanghai. i arrived in one and left from the other. staying here was the perfect stop-over. the staff were very helpful and courteous. i would stay again.

Worth a change”
It was nice experience staying away from peoples square. Hotel is ideally located in the area not far from the most of attractions in Shanghai. Service is good and also staff is very well trained and you can't have difficulty in communicating in English which is a big plus for Chinese Hotels.

Good location for the money”
We stayed there the last time in 2009. Since then, the hotel has seriously upgraded the rooms both in terms of 'modern' furniture and cleanliness. The only problem I have is that we forgot to reserve a nonsmoking room and the smell of a smoking room is a killer...especially if you are a nonsmoker. For those who remember the 'ladies' soliciting 'business' in the lobby and the midnight phone calls asking if you wanted a 'massage'....happily we didn't see the 'ladies' and didn't receive any phone calls.

Very clean, convenient location for my purpose”
the location was very convenient for my business meetings - my main purpose for this trip was right across the street from my hotel. just a few minutes walk, and you're near already at the jing-an temple and some shopping. the hotel facilities were clean and new. i appreciate very much that the none-smoking floor was really none-smoking. although the gym facilities were poor - it was expected considering the price range. breakfast was so-so, but so many eating places around the area. and since most restos have "picture menus", you can just "point and grunt" to order.

excellent location”
Shanghai hotel is convenienly located few minutes walking fro Jing An Temple metro station (lines 2 and 7) that provides for easy connections all across Shanghai. The hotel area is safe, comfortable and less hectic than for example around Pople Square which is only 2 stops away. The area around Jing an Temple has ample restaurants for all budgets.

we've been to this hotel for a few years as a group travel of 4 guys. it's always been a pleasant place to stay although, in fact, there is nothing fancy about the hotel. the room size is standard for a 4-star hotel in china. standard design. staff and service is ok. good location and all taxi drivers know the hotel if you say something like "shanghai ping-qua, wulumu-chie lu".

this is a great hotel for business trip. away from the city circular road but easy to reach. quiet and clean. room maintenance is good and very acceptable service is provided. strongly recommended for family or business traveler. so near to the jin-an temple mrt station and even call for taxi, it is no problem that you shall get one in minutes. if travel by public transport, there are so many routes like no. 93 and etc. etc around the corner. very convenient.fantastic location.

Good Budget Hotel”
You get what you pay for with this hotel. Cheap and cheerful. Worth staying if you are on a budget. Very close to some interesting areas and JingAn metro station. From here you get rapid access to all parts of the city. Probably best to eat out as there are some good restaurants nearby.

Good hotel and nice place”
is a nice hotel were you can stay for some days, there is a quite good street to go to drink something not far from there, and you have a big shopping centre to buy some cloth. Is a really convinient place if you want to be in Shanghai and not pay too much.

Average hotel, not so impressed”
The overall service was average, definitely not a 4 star value, maybe 3. Fornitures are a bit old, staff is a bit slow in understanding simple english requests, lower floors have a bad view on air conditioning generators and other stuff like that. The only reason that sold me on it was the position, walking distance to where i needed to go (Jing'an) for a reasonable price.

Good Hotel”
This is more of a Business Hotel which is quite reasonably centrally located in Shanghai. Taxis knows the place well so transport is not a problem. Food can be pricey and we took breakfast out of the Hotel. Internet is not free as is in most of hotels in China. Guests are mostly japanese and koreans. It was also full when we checked in and had to take a smoking room.

NIce Hotel”
it was a nice hotel. while checking in, it took me 40 min to do so. re: they can’t find my booking. i did give them the agoda booking reference no, after making a number of phone call, finally they found it. the bad point about the hotel is they do not provide all kind of adapter for traveler. i’m from singapore and we use 3 pin adapter. when i call upon the housekeeping for it they told me, they do not have the adapter suitable for me. this is the 1st time i come across this issue from a 4 star hotel. overall the room was clean and spaces.

Staying at Shanghai hotel”
Upon arriving at the hotel (late at night due to our flight and the long way from airport), because we booked 1 night thru Agoda and the other 2 nights as part of the organized tour, we did ask the counter staff to arrange so that we don't have to change room after the 1st night. We were told that would be the case and we just have to come to the counter to do the paper work next day. On the second day after a busy day about town, when we returned we found our swipe key no longer worked and were told by the counter staff ( not the one from the first night) that we have to change room straight away, they refused to budge on this, and saying the original staff was wrong. Also breakfast were included in the second booking but counter staff never mentioned it to us, we heard same story from other people in the same tour group. Also things like putting a family of 4 in 2 rooms at different floors.

Th hotel is located in 靜安區 which is near all attractions. Nearby has resturants, night clubs, and nice shopping malls. By subway, you can reach Bund and many shops. However, the hotel is a little too old for the price paid.
