The Bund and North Bund hotels & places to stay

I had the best time this second visit to Shanghai, by staying at Les Suites Bund Hotel, we, as a group of 10 were able to walk to the best shopping, dining and of course the Bund, including an unforgettable Huangpu River Evening Cruise. Staff were outstanding, very helpful in suggestion local cuisine or calling for a cab, etc. I had a room facing the Bund and loved every moment of the stay. Enjoyed the East/West style breakfast, they also offer free coffee and cookies at the lounge and evening cocktail as well if you happened to be staying in. All in all, it's a great place to stay, especially I scored a room with view of the River and the Bund. Highly recommended! Happy Travel!!

We had booked a gold room as we had a great experience at the Fairmont in Singapore. The hotel is on the Bund, and you only have to cross the road to get to the Bund promenade. The building is beautiful and inside completely decorated in art deco style. The room was so much better than the pictures on the website, it is big, nicely decorated and the bathroom is the best hotel bathroom I have seen. A free standing bath, seperate shower and toilet. A special area for your luggage and a coffee machine that makes great coffee. The room was very clean and the staff were fantastic. The gold lounge was very nice. We enjoyed the afternoon tea and the canapes at night. Harrison the Gold room manager was very friendly and helpfull. It is the second Fairmont we have stayed at, and I am looking forward to stay in more.

Probably one of the best hotel I stayed in Shanghai the most hip and happening among all three Hyatt in the city. Spent my new year eve count down at the Vue bar, very memorable and unforgettable experience, it offer stunning view of Shanghai both Pu dong and Pu xi view, thought the location of the hotel is at Pu xi side. I would recommend all guest to have a drink at the Vue bar to chill out. Being situated at Pu xi, Huang Pu Road the hotel is minutes walk from the Bund and nan jing road where most of the great, shopping, restaurant and bar located at. Very convenient location. As for the facility, Hyatt on the Bund provide better facility than other 5 star hotel in city. warm pool and great gym. I stayed at the club room on the east tower at 27 floor that offer magnificent view, the room is spacious and amenity is nice. I truly enjoy my stay at Hyatt on Bund and will stay here again come May Shanghai Expo.

The location is a bit far from the bund, but you can walk about 50mins to the bund. Very tiring. Otherwise you can ride the metro or a taxi from the hotel but don’t ride from the bund to the hotel. It is quite pricey about 50-70 RMB. The staff are so helpful and friendly. They help me in chinese writing to find the restaurant or others. This is will be a note to the taxi driver. The google map is hopeless though depend on the VPN network. The rooftop cafe is fabulous view facing to the shanghai skyline. The room is very spacious and got the bath tub facing the shanghai skyline. I will come back to stay if going to Shanghai again 😘😘😘

When I arrived at the hotel, I was assigned a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor. However, when I got to the room, the room/floor smelled really badly of smoke. It turned out that other floors - despite being smoking floors - didn't. In order to find me a room that was smoke-free, they ended up giving me an upgrade to a much larger suite-room. The hotel has recently undergone a major renovation and refurbishment, in the style of 1930s art-deco Shanghai. The standard of the rooms is really high, and the only downside was that when I arrived, it was really cold and the hotel doesn't turn the heating on until at least mid-November. However, the hotel staff tried to be accommodating and brought a plug-in heater to the room. Pros: - Beautiful newly-renovated hotel in art-deco style. - Spacious rooms. - Great location (only 2 minutes' walk to the bund and Nanjing East Road) Cons: - Pity about the issue with smoking in the hotel - especially with everything being so new. - No proper room service menu. Consisted of Set Meal A and Set Meal B. Would definitely stay here again and recommend others to do so. Just important to stress being in a non-smoking room if this is an issue.

At first glance, the alleyway in which this hotel is located seems a bit "off the beaten track". However, do not let that fool you - the hotel is in the heart of The Bund and next to all that you will be wanting to see. The alley leads onto one of the main streets that is close to many shops and places to eat. Rooms have everything that you need, the bed was very comfortable and a safety deposit box is also provided. All of the staff speak English well and are very friendly. Breakfasts are okay but the hotel also has a bar, with drinks priced very reasonably. I do not think I could have booked a hotel for the price I paid that had an excellent location and rooms of this standard and would definitely book again. One of my "gripes" about more costly hotels is the deposit that you have to pay up, which can be anywhere between 1000 RMB to 2000 RMB and, let's face it, we do not usually spend much time in the hotel! The deposit here is a reasonable 200 RMB, which seems much fairer. All-in-all this is a great base from which to see many attractions of The Bund. I will be back!

What I love about the W chain of hotels is that you are always assured of a certain standard. I've stayed at other W's as well and I have never had any complaints. The same goes for the W Shanghai. I stayed in the Spectacular Room with a panoramic view of the Bund, breathtaking both day and night. The bathroom was spacious with his and her sinks, huge bathtub, waterfall shower as well as a Japanese toilet. The bed was very comfortable and the huge sofa that ran along the windows was the perfect perch from which to observe the world below. Special mention also goes to the wonderful staff working there. From the minute you walk into the lobby you are greeted by friendly faces at the ready should you need help. The same goes for the FOH staff at the check-in desks. You're attended to immediately following your exit from the elevators. They will also give you some infused water if the outside heat was a bit too much to bare. Thanks for a lovely stay!

we had a very pleasant stay at the hotel. the hotel interior is beautifyl. its too bad that we didnt have the time to have a meal at the hotel as the restaurant looks very decent. the hotel was clean, and the staff were very helpful. we would definitely return as the the price of the hotel was also very reasonable even it was peak season when we stayed (during new year's eve period).

The hotel and the staff were very good, everything was run very professionally. The area is not the most upscale in the city but it is convenient enough to get around even on foot, with the bund and nanjing road not too far away. Loved that the gym is 24 hours and the pool on the top of the building is quite nice. One problem about staying here is how difficult it is to find taxis, even with the hotel's help I was standing in front of the hotel for 45 minutes on Friday evening and still couldn't get a taxi. Traffic in this area can be horrendous also. But if you have transportation already sorted then it is a very solid hotel to be in, and the price is very good too.

We had an amazing stay at the Warldorf on the Bund, it was truly magical. The feeling of this hotel is grand yet boutique, every last detail has been specifically thought out, the design was beautiful. The rooms were a delight, and had a very boutique feel. The staff were so attentive and helpful, a doorman even walked us to a restaurant over the road, because we didn't know where it was, covering us with an umbrella. The breakfast was wonderful, with a lot of choice and outstanding food. It is in an excellent location to explore The Bund and surrounding areas.

Located a stones' throw away from the Bund and old British Consulate, the Broadway Mansions proved to be a great value for money, with excellent staff and convenient facilities. Towards the east, you have the vibrant Bund dining and shopping districts, and towards the west, you get a taste of traditional Shanghai with local street food on Minghang and Changxi Roads. Further west is the shopping district of Qipu Road, akin to the likes of Camden or Paddy's markets, on steroids. Overally, Broadway Mansions sits on the outskirts between new and old in Shanghai and is the perfect location for you to explore both sides of this wonderful city.

very nice new hotel at the rock bund. nice room finishing and spacious. it is at the end of the bund and easy excess to rock bund, bund, and walking street. peace hotel is around the corner which is cool for their historic interior as well. many nice restaurants, boutiques, and bars within walking distance from bund3-18. rock bund has a nice walk and ram museum.many high end boutiques just right underneath the hotel itself, chanel,prada,armani etc

The location of the hotel is really super: directly at the northern end of the Bund. When the new promenade is ready it will be one of the best-situated hotels in Shanghai for tourists. In order to fully benefit of this location, it is an absolute must to take a riverside room, the higher the floot, the better! The view is spectacular, overlooking a large stretch of the river bend, the most intersting part of the Bund and the famous skyline of Pudong ! We were able to see the New Year's Eve fireworks from the comfort of our bed !! We recommend this hotel without any restraint!

The nearest MRT station is East Nanjing. It could be hard to locate the hotel initially, but once you find out where it is, you'll realize that the location is quite central. The Bund and its beautiful night view is within walking distance. So is Yu Garden and Nanjing Pedestrian Mall. Wifi in the room is reliable. Check-in and check-out process are seamless. If there is one thing that can be improved, it would be the door of the toilet/bath. It's transparent glass with no lock (think of convenience store doors) - this might make one uncomfortable unless for example you're traveling as a couple. Nonetheless, overall it was a good stay. You definitely get value-for-money at Elegance Bund Hotel.

A group of us stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The hotel room facilities are basic but sufficient for young travellers which are cost-conscious like us. Good for backpackers, young travellers who do not want extra luxurious facilities or services. The hotel front desk was efficient and approachable. The location is strategic, very near to the Shanghai Old street and the Chenghuang temple. Walking distance to The Bund and Yu Garden Subway station. What's more, it is near to a supermart - Tesco and many good eateries.

If you get a River View this is a great location to view the Bund - especially at night. Found the price reasonable with the property modern and located walking distance to the Bund and train station (10 minutes). Staff had modest English. Rooms were clean, bathrooms generous and breakfast was expansive (and included). Was disappointed that despite many non smoking signs every day you could smell smokers in the hallway and the corridor ashtrays showed use (we did not however have any residual smoke smell in our rooms (4 rooms over 2 two weeks). The window in our room did not close all the way allowing for noise and free flow of outside air - more of an annoyance than deal breaker. The beds were comfortable and the property was generally well appointed. We found many restaurants near by as well as shopping and walking - all in all a safe location with an extraordinary view (River Side), a pleasant staff this is good value for a higher-end property without enormous cost.

Absolute value for the location, room quality and level of staff service. This hotel is two minutes away from Lines 4 and 10 of the Shanghai Metro, putting you a couple of stops away from either the new financial center or shopping and tourist sights like Xintiandi. It is also a 10 min cab ride from the Bund. The room was large and spotless, very comfy bed, plus the bathroom is amazing. Would have been better if the internet was free, but at the rate I got the room, this was not a problem.

My husband and I have always called each other Bund as a pet-name, so when I came to book his 60th birthday trip to Shanghai this year, I was very pleased to find this lovely-named Hotel :o) After booking the room, I arranged for their car pick-up at the Airport and tried to explain about the Bund name being special, but felt that I had only confused them! However, on arriving at Pudong Intn'l, the Hotel driver was holding up a sign saying "Mr & Mrs Bund" - perfect!! The only downside of our stay was that the Hotel was, in fact, on the "North Bund", which meant a traffic-jammed taxi-ride to/from the Bund/city centre each day. Apart from that, our stay was great :o)

I have been to Hotel Indigo Shanghai on the Bund regularly to eat at its fantastic restaurant, Char Grill & Bar. This if the first time I stayed at the hotel and was treated to a wonderful reception and service by Star Lu. i was given a room with great views of the the Huangpu River, the Bund and the financial district of Pudong with its dazzling lights. The room is clean and the bed very very comfortable. Toiletry items are tip-top. It was a lazy Sunday the next day as we had late breakfast and coffee. This hotel is just so appealing. The only thing they need to improve on is their carpark and a covered walkway to the hotel entrance. Then it would be almost perfect. Great hotel!
