“it depends on the kind of traveler you are”
I paid for about ***k won per night which i think is worth it considering the location of the hostel. Since I am not choosy/nitpicky, I'd say it was okay for me but I think it's not for everyone: 1. No one replies to your inquiries and they only send details on how to check-in on the date of your booking. I was anxious for a long time since I booked months in advanced but no one was replying. Yet, it was an easy check-in/out process since basically, they don't have actual staff---just volunteers. 2. The layout of the hostel is the same, but the actual look/design is different so lower your expectations. 3. The bunk beds are a little noisy and easy to move, even if you don't make a lot of movements. The bed is a little hard and I could feel the spring underneath, that I even had muscle pain throughout my whole stay. 4. There are only 2 two-in-one bathrooms/showers. Thankfully, I am a morning person and I usually wake up very early, so I didn't have to wait most of the time. Also, even though the bathrooms are generally clean, I find the shower curtains a little disgusting because the molds are very visible. 5. There are no actual staff---just volunteers, but they are kind and accomodating. 6. It's also a little noisy outside since it's in Hongdae. Thankfully, I am still able to sleep well---but that might not be the case for everyone. 7. The breakfast is very simple: Toast, jam, peanut butter, and juice. But for the price? Definitely a plus that they even offer free breakfast. (Water is also unlimited) 8. There are free-to-use hair dryers and blowers on the 4th floor. 9. There is no elevator, so it could be difficult especially for those with heavy luggage. Overall, it was still a good stay considering the kind of traveler that I am. But again, it's not for everyone. If budget is an issue, this is already worth it, but if you could allot more budget for accommodation, don't book a hostel.
