Excellent hotel in a prime area of London ”

Beautiful hotel with good rooms and a delicious buffet breakfast. We stayed for 6 nights and had a room overlooking the main street on the third floor of this five story hotel. The staff is attentive and always willing to help. Outside you’re surrounded by embassies and classic London streets leading to Kensington palace just across the park. There are a few places to eat within a 5 minute walk - we recommend Little India - and a lot of options for food, drink, shopping, exploring, and entrances to the underground within about a 10-15 minute walk south. We always used the South Kensington tube entrance, though google recommends Gloucester. There is a tube entrance on the other side of the university that takes you to South Kensington without dealing with the crossing streets. I highly recommend the Queens Gate hotel and would happily stay there again.

great hotel at convenient location”

cleanliness, friendliness and location

We had booked a family room but due to an issue of the room at the time of checkin we were upgraded to 2 double rooms for one night and then moving in the booked family room for the 2nd night. Our request to stay in the double rooms to avoid repacking again was kindly granted. The staff was overall very friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean. The location is very convent as there are 3 underground stations only a few walking minutes from the hotel or buses that will take you to central London. However restaurants and shopping are only a walking distance from the hotel too in either Kensington and/or chelsea and much less crowded than down town London. We would certainly choose Queens Gate Hotel again on our next stay in London.

Excellent location”

Location, room size, very clean

It was a real surprise....better than expected. The room was huge compared to the general standard in London. The bathroom was the same...we were very happy! The hotel was spotless. We did not eat at the hotel therefore cannot comment on this. The location was perfect. There were two subway stations very close by and it was a five minute walk to Hyde Park, Kensington Palace and excellent shopping. I would diffently return to this hotel!

Good location, nice hotel”

- location within walking distance of Royal Albert Hall, Hyde Park and a number of interesting museums. - hotel very welcoming, nicely decorated, clean - good range of toiletries supplied including hair conditioner, plenty of shower gel/shampoo and even a sewing kit - bathroom very small - door opens into basin (doesn't open fully); toilet in tight space; narrow bath (may be larger in other rooms though?) that was quite deep - really need to catch bus or tube to centre of London - about an hour to walk in or 30 mins on public transport; however fairly close to routes for both (Gloucester Road tube is closest, or bus stop opposite end of road next to the park - number 10 to Kings Cross stops at Oxford Street) - 2 lifts to all floors - didn't eat there but there was a good variety of food including vegetarian options

A stones throw from all major city attractions”

Clean, quiet and efficient service

We really enjoyed the.queens gate and the fact that it was in an amazing upmarket area of Kensington just around the corner from the major museums and Hyde park. It was just wonderful to wake up each day to a full cooked breakfast and then to wander the park after a leisurely coffee. It was extremely easy to access all the sites and major attractions of the city from here via the original hop on hop off tour or the subway.

Excellent location on quiet Street in lively neighborhood close to tube and Hyde Park”

Great staff, nice rooms clean big bathroom a little tight but not too bad modern clean great hot water and pressure. No noise from hallway or neighboring rooms but we could hear people walking in the room above us. Not a big deal just one night it was a little annoying. Great place to stay lotta restaurants in the neighborhood I recommend Indian places on Gloucester Street. We took Heathrow express to the Paddington station walk to the hotel about 20 minutes. After that we could take the tube anywhere in central London which was only a five minute walk to the tube station.. Good value for the money if you’re looking for if you’re savvy traveler that doesn’t mind taking the tube I can’t think of a better place to stay in London

Cleanliness & customer service second to none ”

Well done Queens Gate, cleanliness is always an area of conversation when it comes to hotels but you guys are the ‘queen’ of the crop.! Be proud as this is a rare review for myself! Comfortable, room with ensuite. Excellent space and even more excellent wardrobe space. Makes a pleasant change. Iron & board in wardrobe, hairdryer ready to go, shower gel plentiful. Ample breakfast, perhaps a little expensive as on par with other hotels cooking to order. I believe I paid £12.95/adult, £6.95 for under 12’s. O the whole I was extremely pleased. Perhaps a rug in the rooms as wooden flooring. This is a very modern hotel and I highly recommend.

excellent location, just around corner from Natural History museum and Hyde Park plus access to 2 different train lines within close walking distance. Friendly helpful staff. Rooms clean, comfortable & well appointed. Small by Aussie standards but roomy enough for us plus large suitcases & we could still move around easily. Needs thicker curtains with early rising sun being a small issue in east facing room but eye mask can fix that too. On main road but very little noise from street heard by us on level one.

Mistake by Agoda website”

We have stayed previously at this Hotel. Staff are always friendly , and helpful. It seems this time , there was a problem with the website of Agoda . What we wanted was February 9th , 2019 , what we got was JUNE 9th , 2018. Satisfied I saw the right date , I checked no further . BIG MISTAKE ! Better to go to the Hotel direct , than bother with these so called booking sites . Now booked happily with Queens Gate Hotel , which I thoroughly recommend , unlike Agoda.

This hotel is in an excellent location, convenient to museum options, shopping, and near Hyde Park - one of London’s best. The room was small for a king room and the bathroom had some limitations involving a high tub you had to climb into that was a bit challenging. Overall it is a good value.

All was awesome!!”

Simply perfect. Spacious family room with comfortable beds, large bathroom. Great breakfast buffet. Our friends staying down the street at more expensive accommodations had a tiny room and also carte breakfast for double the price. They ended up coming to our place for breakfast. Front desk and doorman were wonderful. We came down for tea only to realize tea time is before 4pm.... oops... but no problem. They whipped us up some homemade scones and clotted cream. :) prices were reasonable for London. 6 min walk to the tube but cabs were a great option as well.

Great hotel, Great service, Lovely stay”

Location, refurbished/modern rooms,
no Cons,

Our stay at Abba Queens Gate Hotel was more than great and refreshing! We first arrived and the friendly front desk greeted us and gave us our room. At first we had a queen bed room however it was situated on floor -1 which we did not prefer as there was many windows visible on a street view angle. The wrong room stemmed from our Agoda booking in which we forgot to put our additional requests about our room onto the initial booking and we put it through as an extra message, which did not seem to reach Abba Queens Gate Hotel. However after explaining, they were more than happy to change our room to a higher one. The downfall was that our bed was separate twins for the first night which was then fixed by house keeping the next day. We were completely satisfied with our stay at Abba Queens Gate. Will be back again!

Good hotel”

There were another hotels in the same price but this hotel prepared a pretty and clean room. The room even had an umbrella for the guests who could go out in the typical London showery weather. It needs a bit of walk from the station but it's located in a nice area.

Spotless hotel, though beware the bar food”

Clean, quiet, friendly

We stayed for 1 night. Check in was easy, the room was a good size, comfortable bed and as with all areas we saw, spotless. There was plenty of hot water. Staff were friendly and helpful, though as with a lot of hotels in London, the staff were not english, so communication was often tricky. Although the breakfast was excellent, the one down side was the bar meal we had, the barman was doing the bar and cooking and the standard of the food dropped as a result. If your planning on eating out, I would highly recommend this hotel.

A lovely hotel in a very good location. ”

The hotel is lovely in a very good location. The room is a good size compare to a lot of hotel (with similar price) in London. The bed is comfy however, we stayed here 2 nights and noticed that the bedding was never been made properly. I had to end up do it myself again. This is not a major problem, just thought they could have done with a really good hotel standard. A part from that we're all happy and will stay here again. It's sound silly but We drove to London, and it's almost no where to park around the hotel so you might considered if you drive. The parking we've found is 20mins walk and it cost £40 per day.

Great location but tired decor”

Stayed here during a business trip to Imperial College London. The location is great and the price was good. Imagine that the hotel was great a number of years ago. However, everything felt tired - walls stained, carpets stained. Was given a twin despite booking a double. My choice of twin bed was made for me by the cleaners, who had left sheets with what looked to be blood droplet stains on one of the beds. Cleanliness lets down this otherwise nice hotel. Strange placement of the minibar at the foot of the bed - with insufficient space allowed to open the fridge door past a 45 degree angle.

Wonderful Place to Stay”

Location, Cleanliness, Friendly & Accomodating Staff

I was a guest at the hotel for one week. The hotel is in a great location and beautiful section of London. It is very clean and the hotel staff is both friendly and accommodating. I was permitted a very early check-in and late check-out without hesitation and without charge. There are many, many restaurants of varying cuisines and cost near-by to the hotel. It is ideally located within blocks from the tube which makes travel extremely easy, even to and from airport. All in all, I highly recommend this hotel and will be happy to stay there again in the future.
