30 seconds walk from Exit 14 of the train station. Convenient is the key. Small hotel with warm reception, and a very clean room. Constant supply of hot water in the toilet during winter. Fantastic. I will stay here again.

The hotel is just within 30m from Exit No.14 of People's Square Metro Station, and 2 mins' walk from the famous Nanjing Road (right in the middle of Nanjing East & West roads). Really great value for money

Friendly staff who provided the extra mile of service”
Arrived early on the rainy morning of Luna New Year's Day and the front-desk staff kindly provided early check-in. Also the staff from the cloak room also lent me their personal umbrella so I could head out early. Highly recommended!

We splurged this time and fully enjoyed all the Yangtze Boutique hotel had to offer during our stay that was shortened due to the threat of the flu. Wish we could have stayed longer- maybe next time!

Superb location and friendly staff !”
We are so glad that we made the right choice of staying 10 nights in this hotel. The location is great. It is just 50m , 1 minute walking distance to the People's Square Station which is the busiest and largest metro station in Shanghai with 3 major subway lines passing through, namely metro line 1, 2 and 8. The famous East Nanjing Road is a merely 260m distance behind the hotel. You will find many large shopping malls, famous stores and specialty shops along both sides of the road. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. One of the staff was so nice to accompany my husband to a nearby private hospital because hubby was having a high fever. Highly recommended to stay here if you are in Shanghai.

Nice but cold”
Visited during a cold spell in January and was feeling a bit under the weather. The heating in the room was totally under dimensioned to handle the severe cold spell. As a result, the room was almost uninhabatable. No willingness by the hotel to move me was surprising and disappointing. I will absolutely consider staying again but not during winter season

Aged hotel with service mind to be improved”
We booked this hotel because the “Art Deco” design as advertised with the expectation for service from a 5stars hotel. Both didn’t fulfill the expectations. The rooms turned out to be the sad down fall of Art Deco era. Smell of aged furnitures and carpet, dirty limestone shower cubicle, no master lighting switches control and insufficient lighting. At least the bed was comfortable and the towels were clean. This taking already we got unwillingly upgraded because of unprofessional preparation and communication of the hotel staffs. We booked 2 rooms several months in advance with the request for connecting room/ or the rooms next to each other. (We are traveling in group of 2 parents and 3 smalls kids) upon the booking, the hotel response with the message that the request is granted. Upon arrival, we were informed there’s no connecting units on our booking room type (Art Deco), of which we were ok to be placed to the rooms facing each other instead . Turned out the room weren’t facing each others as seen on their floor plan. They’re actually 3 rooms apart over the conner walk. I went down asking for the change, and got replied irritably that only choice available for me to have rooms next to each other is to upgrade with extra charge!! It became an unnecessary hotly discussion on Christmas eve how the hotel will handle their commitment. The manager (I guess) said “we said we’ll try our best but not that we commit!” What a service you expected from a 5 star hotel!. First they never told you they have no connecting room for your room type upon request. Second, they assume they have no commitment on what they promise to the guest. Unbelievable! Finally, they decided to upgrade us to the next type that is next to each other. But that caused us our Christmas evening and mood. Not worthy at all. Not recommend to anyone, unless the staff attitude would live up to the hotel 5stars standard.

best hotel ever stayed in Shanghai”
I stayed for only one night, but has already decided that Yangtze boutique hotel to be my go-to hotel in Shanghai in the future. The room is very clean and spacious with a luxurious touch. Hotel staff is very helpful and attentive. The hotel is centrally located, close to all amenities, including No.1 subway station, numerous local restaurants and large shopping malls. It was a great stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The only drawback though, is that I found the bed a bit too soft for me. This is just a personal opinion as I'm not quite use to very soft bed.

The Yangtze Boutique was an amazing experience. From the fresh rose scent which permeated the hotel to its excellent location to its amazing rooms (with a balcony even), everything about the Yangtze Boutique was excellent. It was a lush and enjoyable experience and I would recommend it strongly for everyone who wants to visit Shanghai as a choice destination.

You enter your room and a video plays showing pictures of Old Shanghai with a lovely Chinese jazz singer in the background - immediately you are transported to 1930's Shanghai. This video is even better when viewed, soaking the enormous bath tub. Great location near the People's Square, Shanghai Musuem - you are no more than 20 minutes or so from anywhere including the Bund (which you can walk to from the hotel). Service is great and you must try Tang Court for the great value business lunch. There is not much to dislike about this classy, personal hotel. Its definitely my place to stay in Shanghai and loved every minute of it.

Situated in the Huangpu - The Bund neighborhood of Shanghai, The Langham, Yangtze Boutique, Shanghai is close to Nanjing Road Shopping District, Shanghai Grand Theatre, and Shanghai Museum. Best Hotel Ever”
This was a perfectly located hotel, close to the historic center of Shanghai. It is one hop away from the Metro, walking distance from People's square and the Shanghai Museum, as well as Nanjing Pedestrian Street. It is but a short distance by cab from the Bund, the French Concession, and the Old Town. I love that it has roots in Shanghai's heydays in the 30s and fully appreciate all the information shared about the hotel and that era. It was absolutely clean and comfortable, had all the amenities I expect from a high-end hotel. For us, personally, it also tied in well with our purpose for coming to Shanghai--that nostalgic flavor that is so appropriate to a return trip to a city where we once lived 25 years ago.

Perfect Location”
The hotel is easy to get to from the airport - the #2 Metro stop is right across fr0m it which is a great plus in Shanghai's traffic - no need to take a taxi. Yangtze Boutique Hotel is located right by the People's Square with its wonderful park, two blocks from the main shopping street, 20 minutes walk to the Bund and the river cruises and 30 minutes walk to the Old City. The hotel maintained its beautiful original 30s style while updating the room amenities which includes a TV over the bath tub!The staff was extremely helpful. Overall a very good experience - and at a good price.
