"First of all - very clean. They checked me in at 10 am! They give small towel, toothbrush and toothpaste - so you know. Also, be advised - staff not great at english speaking, but they try to do their best and they are very friendly. Location is pretty good. Just 500 meters to one of the subway stations and then only 7-10 minutes and 3-4 stops to city center. I usually traveled by bicycle - 15 minutes to People's Square. Also a big mall nearby (at one of the subway station). Capsules could be bigger maybe. But they clean and cozy - very comfortable sleep. Toilets and showers - pretty clean too. And common area on the first floor is a nice place to work or just read something with a cuppa. What I would suggest to improve is to make people unshoe for the second floor. Overall - thank you so much for a pleasant stay."

"In all my rather extensive travels along the coastal regions of China and the south, this is by far the best place I have stayed. Some of the staff speak great English, and those that can't seem eager to learn. The hostel has an outdoor garden feel to it, but it is totally enclosed, which makes it a great place to be during the summer rains. Their coffee shop serves genuine coffee, and cheaper than Starbucks or other coffee shops, and I met some really interesting people from Europe, Japan, and Korea. There are a number of tiny restaurants in the area that are worth trying if you can speak Chinese, otherwise, the subway is a block away and it will take you anywhere you want to go in the city. I had a private room and it was very comfortable, and I slept really well. There are plenty of places to hang out if you're sharing a room or want to get out, and this also gives you the chance to meet others staying here. GREAT PLACE! I wish I didn't have to leave. In fact, I liked it so much, I stayed an extra day."

"We arrived really late but the hostel had 24h service so that was no problem, the staff gave us really nice information and great tips about where to go in Shanghai and what to look out for. The hostel also had a lot of different transportation information (both inside Shanghai and far out of Shanghai). The hostel had wi-fi in the rooms and really nice food and beverage menu to eat all the daily meals from. So if you are planning to stay in Shanghai and want to live at a really nice place for good money value that's located really central you should totally go to the Shanghai Blue Mountain Bund Youth Hostel!"
