Trastevere hotels & places to stay

i was traveling with my family and we took two rooms at b&b ventisei. the reason for choosing this b&b was because of the wonderful reviews i'd read online. and true enough, this was one of the best memories i have of rome. the owners, a warm and friendly couple waited for us after we called them from the cab to tell them we were on the way from the airport. they even gave us a bottle of lovely italian red as a welcome gift. there is no elevator up to the b&b, which was on the 3rd storey. the steps were steep so my parents (in their 60s) were a little worried about the climb and lugging of bags. that was the only downside, but if you're young and able bodied, there is no problem at all. the location is superb. we were in the heart of trastevere. there is an amazing pizzaria (a nice big pizza for only 10 euros!) and other fantastic restaurants around. thanks to the owners lucia and her husband for introducing the eateries. b&b ventisei is comfortable and we slept well every night. the fruits and food were replenished daily and we had our lovely breakfast before setting off to check out the sights in rome. i would definitely go back to b&b ventisei when i visit rome again. i already miss this place!

This is a very service minded and kind hotel! We arrived much later than what was the normal check in time, and with very short notice, the head receptionist were there to check us in anyway. In the morning, they gave us a map over Rome and spent a long time circling things out and explaining to us how and where to go. They gave us great tips on where to go, but I have to say that this hotel lies in the middle of the most cosy and authentic part of Rome, Trastevere, where you find all the narrow walking streets, all the authentic trattorias, osterias and pizzerias, and almost only italians (very few tourists). This is the place to be if you want some space from all the tourists you just met at the Colosseum, and to be honest, you can spend an entire day just walking around the area and take it all in. We spent two days on this! The best part is that there is a free open air cinema just on the other side of this hotel's block that seems to be open and playing movies in the evening during the whole summer from June through August! If you come here during summer, be sure to pick up the cinema program! We had gotten a triple room for a great deal, without a breakfast package. Usually, in the morning, you have to hang up the "do not disturb" sign before 10 AM to not have your room cleaned if you wish to sleep in. We forgot this and only managed to tell the cleaning lady that we were still in there, sleeping, right before she was about to enter. We apologized as she had prepared her tools and schedule around cleaning our room, but instead of being angry, she gave us fresh towels and some left over chocolate croissants and pineapple juice even though food wasn't included in our price! The same thing with the food happened over again the next day! The day before we were leaving, the head receptionist fixed us a taxi to the airport for 04:30 in the morning. Overall, we had a great experience!

Short review: This is our go-to hotel in Rome. Longer review follows. The location is super convenient The hotel is less than 500 m from the Roma Trastevere train station. The #8 tram goes to Piazza Venezia and there is a stop across the street from the hotel. There are lots of good restaurants ( our fave is Pizza Boom, 50 meters away toward the station), there’s a grocery store and a laundry nearby too. The hotel itself is excellent. It’s clean, the a/c is cold, water is hot and the staff is friendly and accommodating. My only negative comments are that there was no fridge in our room and that breakfast is not included. Breakfast is available for €7.20 per day per person and in my opinion iwas not worth the cost. You’re paying for the convenience, but there are plenty of nearby places to buy a caffé and a croissant for less than 3 euro, including the aforementioned Pizza Boom.

Well located in Trastevere close to lots of great and lively dining spots but just far enough away to be peaceful. There's a tram stop right outside and 3 of the bridges across the Tiber into the centre of Rome are just a few minutes' walk away. Eduardo helpful and on top of everything in the guesthouse, so no worries there. Just 3 rooms, and I'm planning to go back there with a couple of colleagues on a work trip and book the entire place!

Fantastic location to acess heaps of restaurants within walking distance and all the major sites with tram around the corner. The rooms wwre exceptionally clean and well serviced. Roberto was brillant and very helpful and made breakfast each morning. We thought the accommodation was great value for money and would stay again. The only difficultly we had was locating the resort as is on the first level, but phone Roberto when you arrive and he will assist.

This b&b is excellent in terms of location. You are right in Trastevere area and can walk to any restaurant from there. You can reach the city centre on foot or take a tram or bus for about 4 stops. The price was good for the location however the place needs some minor refurbishment. We could hear some traffic from our room but there may be quiter rooms not facing the main road. The staff is friendly and very helpful.

Trastevere rooms is an one of my good experience for my first visit in Rome. Vincent the owner is really decent and helpful. The hotel location is in the nice area easy to commute to train station or visit the tourist attactions. Near by area you can find nice restaurant and cafe easily. The room condition is nice and clean as per the pictures. I'll be back there again for my next trip in Rome

Cute little hotel in a quiet location in Trastevere close to lots of cute bars, coffee shops and restaurants. Close to tram which will get you to and from Roma Trastevere FL1 train (easier to use to and from airport than the Leonard Xpress to Termini station). I would choose the Superior Room due to it being the only room on the 2nd floor and very quiet with a nice sized terrace without much view (although be aware, small skinny stairwell to get up there). Tiny shower which is usual for Italy but very tiny. Staff were friendly and helpful.

The location is excellent. If you take tram 8, you can easily go to most of sight seeing in Rome and walk to most of restaurants, bars, pubs and small shops in Trastevere. I got there late night and told the host that my arrival time and there was a staff in front of the building was waiting for me which was nice. One thing I disappointed, even though I use google maps I still wanted to have a Rome city map at B&B but they don't provide maps. And as this is an old building just like other buildings in Rome, my window didn't closed properly which was ok with the weather but in the winter time it could be an issue.

Spacious room which can easily fit two people comfortably.Highlight has to be the location as its close to so many bars and restaurants ranging from budget to Michelin Star. My overall summary is: Bed: 5/5 - large bed comfy enough to sleep two and get a great nights sleep Attractions Close by: 5/5 - too many great restaurants and bars to name! Value for money: Based on location and space, don't think you can get a better suite than this Facilities: You have access to an outdoor sitting area and other amenities such as coffee, tea etc

We were really happy with our choice for several reasons: 1) it was a really good value, 2) it had a king-sized bed and hot water, 3) it was stylish and roomy enough for us, 4) although it was within walking distance of central Rome, there also was a tram stop directly in front of the property, 5) it was within 500 yards of our son's apartment (who is studying in Rome for a semester), 6) the neighborhood, Trastevere, is trendy with a lot of really good, but affordable, restaurants, 7) the place was really clean and well-kept (e.g., I was not afraid to do my stretching exercises on the floor each morning), and 8) we felt safe. We were really pleased with the place. It was a good alternative to a hotel.

i had a simple but very comfortable single room on the top floor of this house which is actually part of a much larger hotel just around the corner. it's on a very nice and quiet residential street in an equally quiet residential neigbourhood. five minutes walk from trastevere train station, but a full 30 minutes walk from the northern most part of trastevere where all the busy streets, restaurants and bars are. overall a great place to stay if you're willing to make the trek, or take public transport, in and out of town.

The structure of the place and location is perfect. Only are thing is that the small fridge in room was broken and made lot of heat, found old open and used bottle of water inside from previous stay, the big bath takes literally 3h to fill with a very slow flow of water and not even hot, WiFi not working, tv with just a bunch of Rai channels and the whole parking situation is not explained at all. Few socket inside the house didn’t work and many light bulbs are missing or not working. For the place and price I was expecting more, the advertise it as luxury Trastevere but that’s not luxury at all when most of the house is a let down. The place in se per se is a stunning building from 1600 and the interior and decor is stunning. Probably if the owner starts investing a bit more on the place and takes real care of it it can be a 5 star but for my short stay I feel that was barely a 3. Too many let down in every side I was looking.
