Opted for the suite. It was clean and large. Great stop for those biking around the island and very close to a convenience store.
We stayed as a group of four on a bicycle trip. The exterior and interior of the building were very stylish, with a bar counter and a billiards table on the first floor, creating an excellent atmosphere. There were convenience stores, supermarkets, and restaurants all within a one-minute walk, making it a surprisingly convenient location for a rural area. The sushi restaurant behind the hotel was particularly delicious, and having a 7-Eleven nearby was also convenient. The surrounding area's vibe was pleasant, and we were always comfortable during our stay. All four of us were so satisfied that we said, "We want to come back again." This hotel comes highly recommended, and we will definitely return!
I’m a round the world cyclist and saw this as I cycled into town. First impression from a distance was it had seen better days. Very true—-on the outside. Once you step past the doors you transport to a very cool and stylish hostel—-just super! The staff was welcoming and happily accommodated my touring bicycle. I got a private room. Spare and stylish minimalism. Spotlessly clean. Nice balcony. My only knock is the towels—-not sure what they are made of but they don’t absorb water very well. The building is old, but it has been stylishly renovated while preserving its age. The first-floor free space has bouldering, a billiards table, and games like Othello and Jenga, which the children also enjoyed. Many young people used the space, and everyone seemed to be having a good time. The family-type rooms are spacious enough, with fluffy beds and crisp linens that made for a comfortable stay. There was no TV, so we brought in a home theater to watch movies. I think it depends on the season, but when I visited at the end of April, there was nothing on the rooftop. However, we could go up and enjoy the stars. Overall, it is a very satisfactory hostel.

“Decent (and only) hostel up north”
Great first impression of the hostel thanks to its industrial/vintage interior design and spaciousness esp on the first and second floors where the reception and lounge and kitchen/dining areas are located. The location is also very good - near the local supermarket, gas station, 7-11, and various small eateries. (Hentona is probably the last stop on route 58 for food/groceries/choice of restaurants before heading up north to Cape Hedo. ) The hostel is liveable - my bed was clean and comfortable (no bed bugs), showers are also clean and have good water pressure and hot water and come with shampoo/conditioner/body soap (bath towels can be rented for 200yen), kitchen is equipped for cooking (induction stove, oven, microwave, pots and pans and cooking/eating utensils, fridge), and there is also a decent laundry and drying room. I stayed in the female-only dorm and small lockers are provided in the room to lock up small but important items like money and passports (definitely cant fit any tablets or laptops). The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Some minor issues during my stay: things could be cleaner - putting aside stuff like rusty window frames or old tiles from the adaptive reuse of the former hotel, there were drifts of stray hair along the cement corridors and hair/dust in the washrooms on the second floor, the carpet in the female-only dorm didn’t seem to have been vacuumed in a while, the sinks in the washrooms on the second and third floors also often had hair on them. The toilet bins were hardly emptied and often choking with rubbish. The kitchen sink area could be cleaner too. The female-only dorm is *tiny* (a 4m by 3m room for four) and would be claustrophobic at full capacity, esp as the window in the room is blocked by a set of bunk beds and there is not much space on the floor for bags. The second floor toilet amenities were also a little lacking compared to the higher floors - tiny sink, and cobwebs and spiders; second floor washroom didn’t have hand soap and had only one hair dryer. If ever i were to return, i would ask for a mixed dorm on the higher floors. The pillow provided is strangely small and flat, barely props up the head; the privacy curtain rail for each bed also kept falling off. Generally these were minor annoyances to put up with, and the key thing was that one could get a good shower and a decent night’s sleep at a fair price.
