Yeong-deungpo hotels & places to stay

This hotel exceeded my expectations. I booked a room for an affordable price and it was clean, conveniently located, had a tub, room was spacious, good toiletries and amenities, etc. However, do not stay here if you want to sleep. A major letdown for me was the noise that traveled through the walls and floors. I could hear very loud screeching whenever someone upstairs or next door moved the chairs. I could hear conversations next door like they were sitting right next to me. In the morning, I woke up because the sound of cleaning next door sounded like they were right inside of my room. I came to this hotel to sleep and rest, so the noise situation was a huge disappointment. I will probably never stay here again because sleep is very important to me, but if you are a deep sleeper, this hotel is a steal.

I just needed a place with a bed for the night and this was okay for the price. The bed wasn't super soft, the shower was typical Korean, it had ondol heating but the AC was working via the remote. After I figured it all out, it was fine, I slept good, it was quiet. It's not fancy, but it was clean and did the job I needed it to. Also, it was raining when I left and the guy gave me an umbrella when I checked out because I didn't have one. Overall happy with the experience, if you're not looking for something fancy on that side of town, this place will do.

I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel Loft. It was an easy walk from the nearest subway exit. Check in was fast and efficient and the staff were polite and helpful throughout my stay. As others have mentioned, there isn't enough light, especially over the sink, and inspite of a half dozen light fixtures, the bedroom remains gloomy and semi-dark during the day. It didn't bother me much on this stay but I think the addition of just one more overhead light could make a big difference. Apart from that, I liked the design of the room, the bed was very comfortable and the shower was THE best hotel shower I have come across in a while, that shower was the highlight of my day. If there is one thing I would like to see improved, it would be proper bedroom slippers instead if those flimsy papery ones. I've stayed at a number of Korean hotels of lesser category and they all provided indoor slippers as well as bathroom slippers, it seems a standard service around here, so it's odd that a 4 star hotel would give out cheap paper slippers. I would definitely come back for the location. I liked the area around Dansang station with its abundance of eateries and shops, nothing big and glittery, just perfect for everyday life and needs.

My 2nd time stayed here since last year. We stayed here last November and my 7 and 8 years old kids liked here, so we stayed here again. Our room 1306 is spacious with 2 computers with free fast wifi. Large round whirlpool is seperated with toilet and washing hands area is seperated in the middle also. Powerful silkky shower was made me feel good to take shower for long time. I stayed at 4, 5 star hotels and love motels many times before but this hotel feels me better and comfortable. Luxurious interior and big TV screen with cable. And kind front desk clerks was a good point also. I read reviews complained about love motel, but who cares about family stayed with under 10 years old kids .Our familyl enjoyed here with flawless hotel. We will be back again next time.

The hotel was welcoming and had great service. They know enough English to get by, communication was never a problem. The room is very clean and has a pretty view at night with many lights and restaurants around. The bathroom was very clean and they provided shampoo, conditioner and body wash. They also provide a computer and free drinks for the first night, and you also get wifi, cable tv and some free movies. You can also get a toiletries bag at the desk if need, which has a tooth brush. The location itself can be a little loud at night with drunk people walking and yelling outside. (but I didn't mind it) The nightlife in that area is open until about 2 to 5 am, but it is safe for the most part. There is also a police station outside the hotel. The location itself is far from Seoul central city (city hall) but it is a great way to experience local life. It also is very close to Times Square Mall and Lotte Mall, and it is in the middle of a food street area.

Stayed here a couple times with friends and have recommended to others as well. Unbeatable price for a nice room and private, well-equipped bathroom (western style shower!) Staff are friendly and helpful as well. Only gave 4 stars for location due to being a bit farther from tourist areas (though I actually prefer it). 5 minute walk to major subway line in a quiet residential area. Look forward to my next stay!

The place is conveniently located near subway however one would have to go through small alley to get into the building. Bed and capsule is neat, clean and with good ventilation. Capsule size is good enough for sleeping and conveniently has TV inside. Staff is very, very friendly and nice. Bathroom could improved if there is enough shower cubicle and toilet for guests. For female capsules that can accommodate more than 10 guests at same time, it only has 1 shower area and 2 toilets.

If you plan to attend any event at Gocheok Sky Dome, this is it. The hotel is not far from the Dome, only around 2km so you can walk when the train stops at night and there's no available taxi around. The staffs are friendly and caring. The room is quite small for 3 ppl in one room but it's clean and well facilitated. A bit far from sightseeing areas but very close to station and have convenient store just next door. Consider this hotel if you want a quiet place to rest after a long day of exploring Seoul!

Our previous reservation got cancelled so this was "beggers can't be choosers" solution and we were thrilled. Small, but clean, tidy, well equipped (everything from soap to aftershave), very nice toilet and clean bathroom (which is important to us), there is TV, PC, minibar (only few items but I would expect no minibar so that was nice surprise even if we didn't need it). The walls are paper thin, but all guests were well behaved so no issues here. Lady on the reception was really there until midnight (and very kind even if we checked in so late) and early in the morning, and we managed to check in even is she speaks only Korean. Metro station is nearby, and also nice street market. We would definitely come back.

This motel is only 2 minutes walk from im the station, shopping malls. Convenient stores n drugstores are nearbhu, plus variety of foods, street foods, and also coffee shops are ready to choose. Though the staffs cannot speak clear English but no problem, they do understand English and will answer in English. It's just perfect for me.. And i have a very nice stay...

the hotel is located in urban area, where is 10 minutes away from yeoung-deungpo station by walk. to get the central of seoul , for direclty on line 1, get 7 stops by metro. and it will take 3 hours to the incheon airport. across from the hotel is near the time square which is the biggest shopping mall in korea. this hotel suitable for those who require clean, convenent place for shopping and get to central of seoul. a modern style with outstanding neon facade. only for double room. clean and colourful rooms with pc conneted internet. small in size lobby, where can be available for about 20 people.

They allowed us to check in around two hour earlier without any charges, I really appreciate that because we was really tired with child and with a lot of baggage. So we can rest at hotel room before went out at evening. Internet was so fast, It was better if they provided computer with English menu only available in Korean..Staff was really helpful and kind..Very close to Singil and Yeongdeungpo Station..It takes around 15 minutes to get to the heart of Seoul..cheapest price with large room compare to hotel in the middle of Seoul, however it just take a little time to be in the heart of Seoul..very recommend to stay here..Thanks

Hotel is hidden away near the YeongDeungPo Rotary, behind the more prominent Dodo Hotel. It was cheap, and had all the very basic amenities including hot shower, fridge, kettle and TV with many channels. Bed is slightly hard, but overall, a very good value for the price. About 10-15 mins walk from Singil and YeongDeungPo subway stations. The airport limousine bus can be taken from in front of Lotte Mall (YeongDeungPo station).

My stay at the Petra Hotel was OK. I was glad to be able to check in at 2:00PM. A lot of these "love hotels" will not allow guests to check in for an overnight stay until at least 10:00PM. They charge per "four-hour shifts" before 10:00PM. So, if I was to check in at 2:00PM - if I had just walked around and inquired within - I would have probably had to pay for TWO of these "four hour blocks" - in addition to my normal overnight fee. So, I was able to check in at 2:00PM - and check out at noon the next day - for just 70,000 Won. I was not expecting a lot from this hotel - from my experience having lived in South Korea for about ten years. This is just a place to sleep. The room really smelled of smoke. I asked for a "NON-smoking room" - and found they do NOT exist at this hotel. Opened the window and was able to withstand the smell. If you are really sensitive to cigarette smoke smell - I would recommend you do NOT stay at this hotel. The bathroom was really dark - only one small light bulb worked - two other bulbs were missing. I was able to stream my favorite sports website programs from the computer to the big screen TV - so I liked that aspect. All in all - not a bad place to stay for me. I was coming from out of town and the location was great for me - as I took the train to Yeongdeungpo Station - and the Petra Hotel is only a five minute walk down the street. Plus, Singil Station is not far away either - about a five or ten minute walk. Lots of restaurants and drinking places in this area - although I met friends and we went to Hong-dae and Jongro. Home late and had a pretty decent sleep. Room was a little warm - never tried to turn on the air conditioner - just opened the window and things cooled off. Window opened to the main street - but noise was not a problem. Window covers are full wood - so once closed the room gets really dark - great for sleeping in. ^-^

The hotel was somewhat easy to find, but took a little navigating. Best to search for it on google maps before you go. We asked for some exceptions like booking early and leave late which the staff were willing to do. We were so thankful for that. The only things missing were coffee/tea sachets and mugs and computer and bathroom needed conditioner for women's hair. But apart from that, it had the usual feel of a nice hotel at a very good price. Highly recommend and very close to subway so you can get around Seoul easily enough.

It’s an upscale love motel. When we arrived at 4PM the front desk could not find our reservation, they asked what site we booked with. They checked their computer again and said the suite room we booked will not be ready until 10PM. The place was very busy with a lot short stay couples (3 hours or less). We complained and they said we could wait in one of the VIP bedrooms until our room was ready. The VIP room was small and felt camped because of the Jacuzzi and extra decorations. We decided not to wait there and told the front desk that we’ll get something to eat and for them to call us when the room was ready. They called us about an hour and half later to tell us our suite room was ready and when we got to our room it was the about the same size and layout as the VIP room we saw earlier; however, it had a mattress on the floor with no bed frame. We talked to the front desk again and they said they will change us to another suite room with a “western” style bed in about an hour. I’ve seen this before here in Korea where the so called “deluxe” or upgraded rooms are basically the same as the regular rooms with a few extra bells and whistles and sometimes a little bigger and it’s not worth the extra price (it’s hit or miss). Also, our included breakfast was two sausage muffins with hash browns and coffee from McDonalds that we picked up at the front desk on our way out at 10am. There’s a lot of fancy love motels in that area and I will try our luck else ware next time.
